Bruce McConnel nabs top ambassador title: Story ~ Queensland Country Life

Top Queensland young ambassador for 2008, Bruce McConnel (pictured), has won the national title against all other State and New Zealand finalists at Hobart Royal Show on October 22.
Bruce, aged 28, has been agribusiness manager of NAB at Gatton for two years, having joined NAB seven years ago.
Raised on the land, and graduating with a bachelor of agribusiness from the University of Queensland Gatton Campus, Bruce is one of five children of John and Carli McConnel of the Mt Brisbane Droughtmaster stud at Esk.
After winning the Marsh insurance sponsored Queensland final run by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies at the 2008 Brisbane Royal, Bruce threw his energies into a next generation committee for the Queensland chamber, an initiative that is thought to have given him a winning edge in the national final judging.
His next goal is to develop a similar next generation committee within the Federal Chamber of Agricultural Societies to further the cause of the show movement on a national level.
Bruce and wife Alison’s first child, a boy, Lachlan Robert, was born on August 23.
